Update on Zim elections

Word is that Morgan Tsvangarai from the opposition MDC party is claiming outright victory in the presidential, parliamentary and civic elections.

The official word is there will be no official word until tomorrow on the results.

It's so exciting for them. I do hope the opposition has won and this is not what happened here in Kenya where people jumped the gun and the 'official' results then caused an outbreak of chaos when they didn't correspond.

Zimbabwe is an amazing country and does not deserve the treatement it's currently getting.

I'm most definitely keeping my fingers crossed for them, if only to hope that they can show that democracy does have a place in Africa and that power hungry politicians should not be allowed to steal that from its people!

I've heard rumours of 3 million phantom voters on the electoral roll. It's worrying.

A German retiree is taking a hospital to court after she went in for a leg operation and got a new anus instead, the Daily Telegraph is reporting.

The woman woke up to find she had been mixed up with another patient suffering from incontinence who was to have surgery on her sphincter.

The clinic in Hochfranken, Bavaria, has since suspended the surgical team.

Now the woman is planning to sue the hospital. She still needs the leg operation and is searching for another hospital to do it.

MC you are right, Zimbabwe is probably one of the more blessed countries in Africa, deep history & culture, the weather and a good people. They do not deserve what they are going through.

Um.. thanks anonymous :)

Hey MC...good writing on the Zim elections. I see from the news this afternoon that only 24 or so of the seats have been confirmed. I can't see this going any way but Mugabe's... can you?
