Today I shall ignore the fact I live in a F***ed Up country!

I'm soooooo excited, I have decided to ignore the fact that we haven't a bloody clue what's going on in our governement, but shall take comfort in the fact that the violence has at least died down now.

Now, will you look at this! Belle of Diary of a Housewife has awarded me ........
Ta Da !

I think the last thing I was ever awarded was a detention in biology lesson for asking far too many questions about the reproductive systems of ants, so, as you can imagine, this is sooooooo much more appreciated .

(And by the way, I am still confused about the ant thing if anyone out there would care to enlighten me. I mean how come there's so bloody many of them. If you spill just one grain of sugar on the counter and turn around for a second, they just appear from nowhere and not just the one but an entire family of a hundred and one!! - and dare you not clean it up immediately and perhaps leave that grain of sugar just sitting there and come back later, you can be sure to come home and the ant community will have moved in and had you evicted !)

Anyway enough of ants.

This award came with some instructions as follows;
I love being a part of the blogging community and part of all the friendships that I've formed so I wanted to give a blog award for all of you out there that have Excellent Blogs. By accepting this Excellent Blog Award, you have to award it to 10 more people whose blogs you find Excellent Award worthy. You can give it to as many people as you want but please award at least 10.

But i have to admit here, I never was great at following instructions so do forgive me if I f*** it up! I can see you all looking at me with those green eyes of sheer envy but you know how it is - lurkers shall not be rewarded - only those super fab people who comment and say super fab things about how super fab I am - you know who you are people and for you I shall do a little trick that I've been practising for ages:

Photobucket

Love it don't ya!! He He ! And to show my appreciation I shall award the following most excellent blogs this gorgeous most excellent blog award for making my day daily; (besides of course Belle who has already made my week in fact!)

Gorilla Bananas
Primal Sneeze
Missy M
Reluctant Memsahib
Swearing Mother
Single Mother on the Verge
Expat Mum
Drunk Mummy (Please come back, all is forgiven !)
Aims
Harry Hutton

and anyone else who feels they are damn deserving of such a super fab award and can of course do a smashing jig to prove it! (By the way, if you already have this super award, please just accept my thanks instead for making me laugh, cry or at least live through to tomorrow in anticipation!)

Dear Miss Chick, I'm so glad to be the first to give thanks for my award. (Bet you don't hear a peep from Hutton, the cad.) You are, of course, a super fab chick, and I'm glad you've taken a day off worrying about the political troubles. Nice ostrich - have you ever thought what it would be like to sit on an ostrich egg?

Mr Bananas, Thanks so much for your thanks so much, and thanks so much for making me chuckle. As for Mr Hutton, perhaps I'll slide by his site and inform him to get back to me forthwith!!
Now, talking of ostrich eggs. I should think if one had a small pert bottom, sitting on an ostrich egg would be fairly comfortable as they are firm enough and large enough for small and pert bottoms, one would think.
As for myself my arse is far too lardy to be doing anything but flattening said egg and I should think it would be incredibly uncomfortable for both me (with all that yolk stuck to my seating arrangement, and for the poor little ostrich who would be no longer a viable chick!)

Hi MC

Well, if anyone deserves it, you do, without a doubt!!

Congratulations. If I could make my blog 1/10th as interesting, funny, informative, as yours, I would be happy. Instead, I just drone on - maybe I will delete it all. I mean, I know what I want to write, but it never comes out right :(

Keep it up, it is my sunshine on cold mornings (it was -3 this morning).

congrats are in order then, aren't they? I love reading your blog soo much that instead of 'delicious'-ing it i have just linked it on my own site.
You rule - now carry on as one Daniel T. would say 'endeleya ivyo hivyo'

Dear lost chick,

i confess i have been a "lurker" for quite some time.

Your blog is lovely,

Tracy.

Chick - thank you so much, What a nice surprise. You may have seen my begging post to my mate Drunk Mummy last week. I will tell her about your award but I don't think we can get her back blogging on a full time basis. She is going to guest blog for me next week (after the kids go back to school).

Thankee very much, ma'am.

By the way, here is a link to one of the newspaper articles about Kenyan rose exports. It is written from an economic (Kenyan's economy that is) point of view.

They way it was handled by some of the "features writers" you will just have to image. I will not debase my clipboard or your blog by copying those links.

DM - Thx for your kind words. If I were you now I would come back and see what you can do to help in Kisii as the violence has abated and now everyone really needs all the help they can get to pick up the pieces.

Seinlife - Thx V much for congrats and privelaged link! Kazi ya mjinga ata endeleya ! (even with my f***ed up Swahili!) HE HE !

Tracy - Very nice to catch a lurker

Aims - You're so welcome and thanks too.

Belle - Thx sooo much - you certainly did make me a jolly happy chick!

Mike - Good point, and YES.
Actually they taste just like chicken eggs and make a damn fine scrambled egg when you've got lots of visitors as just the one'll suffice!

Expatmum - Don't let Drunk Mummy back out of guest blogging over at yours! Can't wait for next week;-)

Primal - Yer so welcome hon and thanks for the link. I'm glad to see we're protecting our export roses so well and stuff the people who've been displaced! Our country thrives on f***ing up its priorities it seems!

AND TO ALL - Do excuse my continuous swearing recently but you know how it is, we've all got to have at least one shit, bugger, bollix week once in a while! HE HE !!

Hi MC
My thoughts exactly.
I am planning to get back to Kenya in a fortnight.
I am hoping that some kind organisation will have answered my plea for a vehicle to replace the one that was destroyed in the unrest. But hey, what's wrong with a matatu? It's only a 4 hour ride, the way they drive (it takes me 6 hours).

OK - where is my award for being your most elusive and puzzling contributor? Keeping you on your toes surely deserves just a little pat on the back?

Swearing Mother said...

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. And once again, thankyou.

That is so nice of you.

Dear MC,
A posthumous award! Thank you, you are very kind!
I would like to raise my glass and join you in a metaphorical sundowner (make mine a large one!)

Coastal Clown - do forgive me for not awarding you for your fab feedback but if you do a little jig for me I shall most definitely reconsider.

Swearing Mother - you so deserve it for making me laugh and slotting in the odd f*** word!

Drunk Mummy - well deserved although post posting but I do understand you may be popping round to Expatmum's for a few words soon. I do miss your advice on which chardonnay goes best with which disaster of the day and find I have just had to turn to gin for all of them instead! See you soon I hope. :-)
